The number of people willing to test Cleaner continues to grow, which is pleasing. In total, beta testers have already deleted 533 GB of junk, and the largest single cleanup was 23 GB. On average, since Cleaner has been available in TF, I see 8-10 sessions per day.
To somehow thank users for testing and reporting issues, we decided to give a year's subscription to each one who found a bug. So, if you haven't had the chance yet, here: https://deszip.github.io/Cleaner-Tracker/ you can take a test build.
It turns out a significant number of users come from Reddit. Without delving much into the platform, I decided to simply post information about Cleaner in several subreddits and see what happens. Here are some noted features that will likely be useful if you decide to do the same:
Read the subreddit rules. On one of them, my post was deleted because it turns out you can only post about your projects on Saturdays🙂
The number of users in a subreddit does not always correlate with the number of link clicks in your post. Some groups apparently consist of more active average users and give better results even with fewer numbers.
I still haven't figured out how to make a post with a picture that shows up in the feed🙂 Maybe you'll have better luck.
Some subreddits where I posted information about Cleaner:
Sound
For the first time in the app, we decided to add sound effects. For some events, we decided to add accompanying sounds. It turned out that recording a quality click or ring is not the simplest task, and in the end, we just bought a set of sounds and selected a few suitable ones from there. Surprisingly, the presence of sounds in use turned out to be quite appropriate; they do not distract and even add convenience by indicating certain actions in the interface. Considering the low cost and time to add to the app - I recommend it.
That's all for this week, see you next week.
